‘Count, Colour, and Design Easter Eggs’ is a resource designed specifically for Early Years and KS1 children. There is a planning sheet outlining the 3 lessons, objectives, resources needed and step by step instructions. The resource combines the festive spirit of Easter with learning objectives including colour recognition, counting to 20, following instructions, and creativity. A power point presentation for use when teaching children the time. This one shows o’clock, but can be altered by turning the clock hands for any times you want. The question and answer is animated and these appear on a click of the key or use of a switch: ‘Can you tell me the time please?’ ‘It’s three o’clock’. The final page is a clock template for children to make their own. Print these on card and laminate. Add split pins for the hands. Children can then make the times indicated on the PPT.

Have fun with your children this Easter with this Easter Egg Trail game. The idea is to place your colour egg posters around the outside area / playground or school for children to locate. They then mark off what they have found on the Easter Egg Trail recording sheets. There is a colour and a black and white version of the recording sheets. There are 16 colour posters included showing the different designs of Easter eggs. There are also 16 sheets where there is a colour and black and white picture of each of the eggs. Children can colour in the black and white pictures to make them the same as the colour ones or choose their own colours. They could also cut the eggs out to add to a class frieze or Easter display. A set of cards based on this popular rhyme - There was an old woman who swallowed a fly. Included are colour and black and white versions of the animals the old woman eats and the old woman herself. Children can write the words on the black and white versions and colour the pictures to make their own set of cards to sequence. Copy, cut and laminate the cards for matching and sequencing games.

A set of numeral cards in colour from 0 to 10 and a set in black and white. Each sheet shows a colour and black and white card to cut out / colour/match. There is also a sheet showing all the colour cards in a small version and one with all the black and white cards in a small version. A fun approach to learning to tell the time with a game for young children. There are 36 cards each showing different clocks, analog and digital. Show each card and children can read the times. If they find the 12 O’clock card it is dinner time! You could duplicate this card so that it appears more than once!

Links in nicely with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Share the colour pictures on the smart board or print them out, laminate and make into a book. Following the story, ask the children what they can recall about the Princesses - Who was born on a Monday? Who has a room that is a terrible mess?
